Day 1: Arrival
murchison falls safariAirport pickup by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on the arrival time there is the optional city tour of Kampala. Places of visit include the Kasubi Tombs, Namirembe cathedral, Kabaka”s lake, the Uganda Museum and of course the African Craft Village.

Day 2: Kampala – Murchison  Falls National Park
After breakfast we will depart for Murchison Falls National Park. Have a lunch stop in Masindi before we enter the park. We will visit the magnificent falls en route where you will enjoy the 40m wide Nile river water being forced into a seven meter gap, 43 meter below .This spectacular scenery can be viewed from different points.

 

Day 3: Murchison  Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast we shall head for a 4-5 hour game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, escorted by a ranger. Expect to see elephant, Rothschild giraffe, Jackson hartebeest, lions, oribis, waterbucks and a variety of Savannah woodland birds. After lunch we shall depart for a 3 hour afternoon boat launch trip up-stream towards the base of Murchison Falls. Hippos, Nile Crocodiles and plenty of bird-life will be seen. You might also see elephants drinking at the water’s edge.

 

Day 4: Murchison  Falls National Park- Fort  Portal
Early transfer to Fort Portal. The drive takes eight hours providing you with some stunning views of the Albert Nile en route while seeing small African villages and banana plantations. En route to the town of Fort Portal expect to see beautiful views of tea plantations.Dinner and Overnight Kibale guest cottages (high end).

Early morning transfer to Kanyanchu tourist center in Kibale National Park. Kibale Forest hosts the highest concentration of primates in East Africa. A guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many other primates will enhance your tourism experience. There are organized visits to the chimps twice daily. A maximum of three groups with a maximum of six visitors per group are allowed per shift.
After the chimp trek there shall be an optional visit to the Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk. Expect to see other primates and plenty of bird species. The other option will be a visit to the Kasenda crater lakes. Return to the cottages in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Semliki National Park

After breakfast we shall drive to Semliki National Park. The scenic, winding road leads us through green mountains and offers magnificent views at the River Semliki and Congo. We shall go for a nature walk through the Ituri Rainforest looking out for the rich birdlife and visit the hot Sempaya springs. It will be completed with a picnic lunch provided by the guide. We shall have lunch en route and later return to Fort portal for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. queen elizabeth uganda
The route to Queen Elizabeth Park via Kasese, with the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side will enhance our visit to the park. A game drive on our way to the national park will give you the chance to see waterbucks, warthogs and other wildlife. After lunch we shall take a 2 hour and 34km long Kazinga channel boat cruise, one of the most rewarding tour experiences in Queen Elizabeth Park  giving you the opportunity to approach within a few meters a multitude of yawning hippos, elephants teaming with egrets, yellow billed storks, Goliath heron, crocodiles ,buffaloes and the occasional leopards. The bird life on the water is fascinating. Expect to see dozens of water birds such as pied kingfisher and many bee-eaters.

Day 8:  Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast we shall go for a morning game drive .A compact network of game viewing tracks start  from the channel drive a road running parallel to the northern shore of Kazinga channel. The most common mammals we are likely to see are Warthog, bushbuck and water bucks, while elephants can be seen crossing the tracks .There is the Leopard track which may give us the opportunity to see leopards and the kasenyi plains will give us higher chances of encountering lions.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Park.

After breakfast there is the optional activity of exploring Maramagambo forest. We shall take a nature walk in the forest and also visit the bat caves.
We will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector in a bid to see tree climbing lions as we head towards Bwindi. We shall have lunch en route prior to arrival for dinner and overnight.

 

uganda gorilla trekkingDay 10: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Wake up by 6.30am and have breakfast at 7am.We shall have to go with our packed lunch. We may spend a full day with the gorillas. At 7.30am we shall assemble at the park headquarters for a morning brief about the gorilla tracking rules, from the park staff. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions. You may see the gorilla’s within1-6hours depending on their movement in the forest. You will spend one hour with the gorillas observing them closely while they eat, play and rest. The park staff will also assist you get porters for carrying our packed lunch.
Return in the evening for dinner and over night.

 

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
After breakfast there is the optional activity of a guided village walk or visit to the pygmy village. Afterwards we shall transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda.
Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Camp.

Day 12: Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast the optional tour activities are birding, nature walks, swimming or canoeing. We shall do some in the morning shift and others in the afternoon shift.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo Park

After breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. As we enter the park expect to see wildlife such as impalas, topis, warthogs, zebras and buffaloes.
In the afternoon we shall visit the Interpretation centre of the park to learn more about the flora and fauna of the park or go for a nature walk.

Day 14: Lake Mburo National Park
Early start of the day as we will go for a game drive nature walk guided by a ranger.  And thereafter return to Kampala late in the afternoon in Kampala.

Day 15: Morning relaxation or Kampala City tour and transfer to Entebbe Airport.
