Day 1: Arrival and Pick up

Day 2: Kigali city tour
In the morning after your breakfast, tour around Kigali the capital city, the Gisozi genocide memorial and learn about the 1994 Rwanda genocide, presidential museum and learn about the history of Rwanda, Kigali convention centre, Art gallery shops and do souvenir shopping. dinner and overnight at day 1.
Day 3: Transfer to Akagera national park
In the morning after your breakfast, tour around the local markets and learn about staple food of Rwandan people, have lunch and transfer to Akagera national park in Eastern Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Ruzizi tented lodge, Akagera game lodge, Dereva hotel.
Day 4: Morning game drive and boat cruise
After your breakfast, set off for a morning game drive in the varied terrain of Akagera national park that shelters wildlife to catch up with the early morning risers such as elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, antelopes among others and return tour lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, enjoy the trip as you watch more animals like hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and many bird species on the water banks. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Spot fishing and night game drive
After your breakfast, go for an adventurous experience of spot fishing on lake shakani which also allows you to watch the hippos in the waters, you can set the fire and cook the fish that you catch, return for lunch and rest. Go for a night game drive which allows you to see many more wildlife than during the day since most of the predators come out to look for what to eat, return to lodge for overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to volcanoes national park
In the morning after your breakfast, transfer to volcanoes national park in north western Rwanda via Kigali city, stopover for lunch, stretch a bit and proceed with your journey. Dinner and over night at Mountain gorilla view lodge, La palme hotel, Hotel Muhabura.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking and cultural tour
Have early morning breakfast and move to the park headquarters for briefing and paper work by the ranger guides and embark on a breath taking a memorable experience of gorilla trekking by hiking through the dense forests of Bwindi impenetrable national park for 2-6 hrs depending on where they made their nests the previous day, Your allowed 1 hr in the presence of the mountain gorillas to study them, observation and take photographs and videos before you leave the forest. Return to your lodge for refreshments and relaxations, after go for a cultural tour to the ibyiwacu community village and enjoy their entertainments and cultural dances, historical life styles, handmade crafts among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Golden monkey trekking and Nature walk.
In the morning after your breakfast, move to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides set off tom the forest for golden monkey trekking experience for 2-5 hours, your given 1 hour on encounter with the monkeys for interactions, taking pictures and videos before you leave the forest. Return to your lodge for late lunch and relaxation and go for a nature walk to the 2 twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera you can do spot fishing and swimming. Back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Dian Fossey grave yard visit and transfer to Gisenyi town
After your breakfast, take a hike to the Dian Fossey grave yard between mount Karisimbi and mount Bisoke at karisoke research centre where this female American conservationist was buried after being killed by the angry poachers in 1985. Return to your lodge for lunch and transfer to Gisenyi town, relax at the beach after long hours of hiking. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu serene hotel, Paradise Malahide, palme garden resort.
Day 10: Boat cruise on Lake Kivu
Have your breakfast, and go for boat cruise on lake kivu, while enjoying the fresh waters and the beautiful islands on the lake, you will also view many water loving bird species that stay at the water banks. Have lunch and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park in south eastern Rwanda, dinner and overnight at Nyungwe forest lodge, Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel, Gisakura guest house.
Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Take your breakfast and move to the headquarters for pre trekking briefing by the ranger guides as you embark on a beautiful and adventurous chimpanzee trekking experience. You may take 2-5 hours on the search for the primate depending on how far they are, utilize 1 hour to take photographs, observations and videos before you leave the forest to get back to the starting point. Return to your lodge for late lunch and relaxation and go for Canopy walk at the highest top of the dense forest for a memorable experience as you watch many bird species, primates like monkeys and butterflies for 2 hrs and return to your lodge for Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Transfer back to Kigali airport
After your breakfast, transfer back to Kigali, en route at Nyanza king’s palace in Butare district and visit the palace where Mutara iii Rudahigwa Rwanda’s king used to seat and learn more about Rwanda’s ancient kingdom. Proceed to Kigali airport for your flight back to your next destination.
