5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimps & Waterfalls

Visit the powerful water falls in Uganda, chimpanzee trekking and Gorilla tracking. Case study: Ssezibwa falls, Bujagali and Sipi falls, Kibale National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 1: Entebbe Airport – Transfer to Eastern Uganda

On arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will e welcomed by our professional safari guide/ driver – transfer to Eastern Uganda- en route visit Ssezibwa falls- meet divine healers, story tellers and magicians at the falls. Enjoy the views of powerful waters from uphill rocks, down slopes. Take memorable photos, explanations from the local guides at the falls and so on. Leave ssezibwa falls to Jinja town for dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort or Gately at the Nile.

Day 2: Source of River Nile tour

After breakfast, sit in the boat – sail to reach the origin of River Nile. Reach the point where water move from underground at the high pressure and it’s believed to be the origin of River Nile.  Cruise to the land for lunch and then drive to Mbale town for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Sipi falls – hike

After breakfast, leave Mbare town- transfer to Sipi falls – meet local guides to escort you. Hike to the falls-take photos/ films. Sipi Falls is a series of three waterfalls in Eastern Uganda in the district of Kapchorwa, northeast of Sironko and Mbale. The waterfalls lie on the edge of Mount Elgon National Park near the Kenyan border. The Sipi Falls area is the starting point for many hikes up Mountain. You will have dinner and overnight in Sipi River Lodge.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala for dinner and overnight

After breakfast, transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel, Cassia Lodge or Kampala Forest Cottages.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park (Home of Chimpanzees)

After breakfast, drive to the home of chimpanzees. Arriving for lunch, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight at Kibale Primate Lodge, Kibale Safari Lodge or Chimpanzee Guest House.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest

After breakfast, move to the briefing point, join other trekkers – walk into the forest to meet chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After chimpanzee trekking, you will relax at the lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy the journey to the home of Mountain Gorillas in Uganda. En route search for the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector- proceed with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight at Mutanda Lake Resort, Chameleons Hill Lodge or Rushaga Gorilla camp.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking – Bwindi Cultural tour

You will wake-up for heavy breakfast, drive to park headquarters (with packed lunch and water) for 30 minutes briefing about gorilla tracking. Thereafter, join other trekkers and head up the slopes of the Forest to visit one of the habituated groups of gorillas. The trek is quite strenuous, so you should be able to hike for 2-5 hours on steep mountain trails before meeting gorillas camouflaged into the thick vegetation. Enjoy the view and take photographs for a maximum of one hour. Return to the lodge for late lunch; relax as you prepare for Batwa community tour. Enjoy music, dance and drama performed by the Batwa pygmies.

Day 9: Return to Entebbe or Kigali Airport

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe Airport or Kigali Airport – Departure.
