Day 1: Pick up from airport or hotel – transfer to Murchison Falls National park.
Meet your tour guide, get briefing for the entire trip and after transfer to Murchison falls National Park in North western Uganda via Gulu Masindi high way for 320 kms approximately 5-6 hours drive and direct to Budongo forest. Dinner and overnight at Budongo Eco lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking – Budongo forest
Breakfast and set off for chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest, the second destination for chimpanzees in Uganda. Briefing at the park headquarters by ranger guides and start the search for chimpanzees in their natural habitats, on encounter with the chimpanzees, utilize one hour for observations, photography and learn more about them and move out of the forest back to your lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National park.
Get set for chimpanzee trekking early in the morning after your heavy breakfast, briefing and embark on the memorable experience guided by the ranger guides through the Toto semuliki game reserve in search for the chimpanzees in their natural habitats. Toro semuliki has over 250 chimpanzees and quite a number of them are still undergoing habituation which makes them easy to trek. You are allowed to 1 hour in their presence as you take pictures and videos for remembrance as you leave the forest back to the lodge. Check out and transfer to Kibale National park. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga lodge, Kibale forest camp or Rweteera safari park.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking – Toro-Semuliki National park
Drive to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides, with your packed snacks and enough drinking water walk in to Kibale forest for a breath taking and unforgettable experience of chimpanzee trekking. Kibale National park is a popular destination for chimpanzee trekking In Uganda and Africa. Meet the chimpanzees in their natural habitats for a maximum of an hour and take picture and you enjoy their interactions since they are 98% human DNA and relatives to humans. Return to your Lodge for lunch and then transfer to Toro Semuliki Game reserve for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking – Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast, you will transfer to trek chimpanzees- a maximum of one hour will be given to see the chimps, chat and take photos. Vacate the forest back to your lodge, check out and transfer to Kyambura gorge reserve in Queen Elizabeth National park. Dinner and over at Kyambura gorge lodge, Park view lodge or Pumba safari cottages.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking – Kyambura gorge
Head out for chimpanzee trekking in the morning in Kyambura gorge settled between the savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National park the most popular destination for game viewing. Get briefed at the headquarters by the game rangers and move to the forest in search for chimpanzees, 1 hour in the presence of the chimpanzees for observations, pictures, and listening to the their sounds is another experience you will live to remember. Have lunch and do nature walks around the forests and Queen Elizabeth National park for game viewing, then return to your lodge for overnight and dinner.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu forest reserve
Early in the morning drive from your lodge in Kyambura gorge reserve for chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu forest reserve close to Queen Elizabeth National park in Bushenyi district. Drive to the park headquarters for briefing and embark on chimpanzee trekking with your snacks, enough drinking water, trekking gears and set off into the forest in search for the chimpanzees. On encounter with the chimpanzees spent one hour with them and get to learn more about their characters, behaviours among others and return to the starting point. Have lunch and take a nature wake in the kalinzu forest for primate viewing, birds, butterflies, vegetation. Return to Kyambura gorge for overnight.
Day 8: Drive back to Kampala
Set off back to Kampala via Bunyaruguru Bushenyi, en route at Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara for lunch and proceed, stop over at the equator for photography and last shopping of souvenirs and drive to Entebbe airport for your flight back.
